A huge, apocalyptic thunderstorm was threatened for yesterday. But as excited as I was for it, it never came! We did end up getting some light rain and decided to head over to the University of Virginia campus to take some rain-soaked photos on its beautiful grounds. Kyle went to UVA and it's still the most beautiful university campus I've ever seen. Designed by Thomas Jefferson and one of the only three post-Columbus UNESCO World Heritage sites in the country, how could it not be? We tend to avoid campus while school is in session but on a rainy Sunday, we figured the coast would be somewhat clear. We walked through gardens, exploring and enjoying the rain and each other.
I need some rain boots.
I hope that you had a wonderful weekend, whatever you got up to! Last week was crazy busy for me and I still feel like I got nothing done. Hoping for some less insane days this week! We're going to Norfolk (on the Virginia coast) this weekend to see an Avett Brothers concert. I am so excited. It'll be the first Saturday I've had off work in a while and I'm almost as excited for the drive as I am for the concert! Going on long summer drives in Virginia — or anywhere in the South for that matter — is one of my absolute favorite things in the world. This is a pretty, pretty, pretty part of the country.
Oh! I've finally joined the world of Instagram, after waiting not-so-patiently for its Android release for months. If you'd like to connect with me on there, my username is: hipapercrowns
